Willow
Willow
Willow was found by the roadside outside a village in the Balkans, alongside her friend Ayla. She was tiny, underweight and unwell, and she had clearly been through a great deal. Through all of it, she stayed the sweetest little girl.
She arrived anaemic and carrying a tick-borne infection, all of which has now been treated, and she has gained weight and grown stronger in rescue. One of her eyes was damaged beyond repair and badly infected, so it had to be removed. She has come through her operation well and is now on the road to recovery. She manages completely normally with one eye and it takes nothing away from her.
When she first arrived she was shaking with fear and nervous about being touched around her head, which makes us think she was treated badly before she was found. She is still learning that hands mean kindness, so she will do best with someone gentle and patient who will let her come to them in her own time. Even when she was frightened, her gentle nature shone through.
Willow is only around one to one-and-a-half years old, so she has her whole life ahead of her. She met a cat during her treatment and passed her cat test with flying colours. She is still in the Balkans and ready to travel to her forever home in the UK. Because she is still overseas, we haven't been able to test her with dogs or children yet.
